"Alex Jabari," tells the compelling story of a young man named Lucious P. Pounds, who grew up in the tough streets of Atlanta, Georgia. From an early age, Lucious was drawn into the dangerous world of the illegal drug trade, driven by circumstances and a desire for survival. By the age of 16, he became a prominent figure, a powerful urban drug dealer, controlling a significant portion of the illicit drug market.

However, Lucious rapid rise to power came at a cost. At just 19 years old, he was arrested and sentenced to a lengthy prison term for his involvement in the distribution of crack cocaine. The world that once seemed under his control quickly crumbled, and he found himself confined within the stark and unforgiving walls of the prison system.

Bio: Alex Jabari
Alex Jabari is an accomplished independent film writer, director, and producer hailing from Jacksonville, Florida. His journey in film began in 1985 when he developed a deep passion for movie/film writing and directing while still in high school in Jacksonville, Florida. This early fascination with storytelling set the stage for his future career in the film industry.

In 1986, Alex joined the United States Navy, where he utilized his skills as a computer graphics illustrator. During his time in the military, he embarked on his first foray into independent filmmaking, producing short films that showcased his creative talents. This hands-on experience allowed him to refine his skills and gain a deeper understanding of the filmmaking process.

Living in Yokosuka Japan, Stuttgart Germany, and Long Beach, California during the 1990s provided Alex with a unique opportunity to meet multiple celebrities in the film industry. These encounters with established figures in the field served as a powerful inspiration, motivating him to strive for recognition and success in the filmmaking industry.

Following his military service, Alex pursued a career in law enforcement, working for various agencies. This experience exposed him to the dynamics of drug dealers and gang members who refused to leave behind lives of crime. After dedicating 17 years to law enforcement, Alex decided to channel his experiences deeper into filmmaking, writing, directing, and producing his independent film "The Weight of A Teardrop." The film, which explored the emotional weight of difficult choices, was aired on social media platforms such as Vimeo.

In 2021, Alex continued his creative journey by writing, directing, and producing the much-anticipated sequel to "The Weight of A Teardrop." This time, he chose to focus on real-life stories of former gang members, bringing authenticity and depth to his storytelling.

In 2023, Alex ventured into documentary filmmaking, producing a documentary centered around the life of Henry Manns Jr., a former kingpin from Jacksonville, Florida. This project aimed to shed light on the complexities of Manns' life and offer a deeper understanding of his journey.
